Rick Stephenson aka The Chairman of the North

Proud 40 year member of The American Federation of Musicians

Rick fell in love with big band music as a child listening to his grandparent's records.  A deep love of the music and his passion found him leading a big band at the young age of 15.  He completed his training at Toronto's Humber College under the Mentorship of Ron Collier (Order of Canada Recipient), graduating with honours in Trombone Performance.


 As a professional musician, Rick has toured with his own 17-piece orchestra as the leader, singer and trombonist with performances on television, MuchMusic/Bravo, theatres, festivals, jazz clubs and many private and corporate events.  


Today, Rick sings the Frank Sinatra Songbook & More.  Accompanied by a combination of original musician recordings along with his own orchestra recordings in personally remastered tracks.  (Live band on request).


Honouring Sinatra’s legacy with voice, not imitation.

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience listening to Rick Stephenson performing “His Sinatra” at a Gala recently. We often listen to Rick’s music on Spotify. He has such a calming and relaxing voice. Then we saw him perform live and couldn’t believe how professional and captivating he was! He certainly knows how to work a room and keep everyone’s attention. Again his voice is so smooth and easy to listen to. We couldn’t help but think he was better than Frank Sinatra.
